The Kalihi YMCA of Honolulu Raises Funds for the YMCA’s “Schools Out” Program
20th Golf Endowment Tournament Scheduled for May 18
Honolulu, HI, April 23, 2007— The Kalihi YMCA Golf Endowment Tournament is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year on May 18 at the Pearl Country Club. All proceeds raised at the golf tournament go directly to the YMCA’s “School’s Out” program, which offers teens an exciting alternative for their “free time.” The “School’s Out” program provides after school and weekend activities that help young people learn constructive life skills like problem solving and decision making, and it gives them access to training, counseling and educational assistance. The "School's Out" program is also an opportunity for teens to create a positive bond with the adult staff and volunteers who oversee the program.
Over the years, XXXX teens in the Kalihi and neighboring communities have taken advantage of this program.
