Beginning in January 2009, the YMCA invites youth from the age of 6 through 18 to participate in a swim team, which will consist of competing against other participating YMCA's around the island. There are six meets scheduled in the year 2009. You do not have to particpate in the meets to be on the team. Practice time will vary by branch.

Participant Prerequisites:

• 6-18 years of age
• Must be able to swim 50 yards of freestlye, breaststroke, and backstroke.

All participants will Swim: 25 Freestyle, 25 Backstroke
and 25 Breaststroke events.

Participants can choose three (3) additional events:

• 25 Butterfly
• 50 Freestyle
• 50 Backstroke
• 50 Breaststroke
• 100 Freestyle
• 100 IM
  
• Relay Event:  100 Freestyle
  

Age groupings:

• 6 to 8
• 9 to 10
• 11 to 12
• 13 to 14
  
• 15 to 18
