Services for Incarcerated Youth - Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF)

The State of Hawaii - Office of Youth Services (OYS) funds this service. OYS - HYCF is a Substance Abuse Treatment Program for incarcerated youth. Youth who choose to participate in this program receive structured substance abuse education and treatment services while incarcerated in the HYCF.

Services include individual/group sessions focusing on substance abuse education, relapse prevention, social, recreational and life skills.  Program goals for participants are to develop an awareness of how their substance use had a negative impact in their lives and learn skills to maintain abstinence and support a healthy lifestyle upon release from the facility.  A follow-up is completed at 3 and 6 months after a youth is discharged from the program or released from the HYCF.
