HEALTH TIP OF THE MONTH
Stay Safe in the Summer Sun Summer is the season of surfing, picnics in the park, and enjoying the outdoors, but be careful! It’s also a time for sunburn and dehydration. Stay safe with these summer tips, no matter if you’re 5 or 100!
• Use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater. Apply before going outside and at least once an hour every hour after that.
• Drink plenty of water! Whether you’re going on a hike or picnicking at the beach, pack a bottle of H2O. Try to take a sip every 15 minutes to ensure that your body is properly hydrated.
• Wear sunglasses. Not only do they look cool, but they’ll protect your eyes from harsh rays of sunlight that may damage your vision over time.
Here in Hawaii we get plenty of sun, and while tans may be popular they can also be dangerous as we get older. So, look good and feel good by practicing sun safety.
