Eskrima
Also known as Anis, is a complete martial arts system that originated and evolved in the Philippines. As a weapon based system, it's known for stick fighting. You'll learn single stick, double stick, single knife, double knife and pocket stick fighting. You'll also learn empty hand defense.

Gongfu for Health
Based on the principals of Martial Arts - this class works on flexibility, strength, speed, balance, and agility. Fundamentals in punches, kicks, and combinations. Pace is slow.

Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is a martial art and combat sport originating from Korea, characterized by fast, high and spinning kicks.

Wing Chun Drills
This class will focus on standing, close range self defense tactics. There will be physical contact and is ideal for ALL ages, fitness levels and experience. No previous martial arts experience is required.

Martial Arts
A variety of martial arts classes are offered for youth and adults out of YMCA branches. Below is a brief description of classes. Visit our on-line registration for specific information on our adult and youth Martial Arts programs.
Aikido (5 years to Adult)
The goal of Aikido training is to harmonize with the flow of Universal Energy "ki" and improve one's character. Focuses on self defense, coordination of mind and body, discipline, awareness and concentration, confidence, and respect.
Escrima (Adult)
Originated and evolved in the Philippines. Weapons based system known for stick fighting. Learn single stick, double stick, single knife, double knife, stick and knife fighting and pocket sticks. Also know as Arnis.
Judo (4 years to Adult)
Emphasis on fun and full physical activity for top conditioning. Judo provides means for learning and improving one's self discipline, character, self defense, and improve physical endurance.
Karate (5 years to Adult - 4 years old accepted with a parent in attendance)
Increase confidence and discipline, improve concentration, build good sportsmanship and character, improve coordination, reflexes, and overall health and fitness. For more information, go to Karate Kids.
Shinden Karate (6 years to Adult)
Shinden is the culmination of more than fifty years of training in Asian martial art forms and Western self-defense. There is extensive use of traditional Asian weaponry. The goal of Karate is to develop humility, self control, respect for others, mental awareness and discipline. Our ultimate aim is to apply this conduct in our lives outside the dojo.
