Making the YMCA More Accessible to All
The YMCA of Honolulu has been the heart and soul of the community for
nearly 140 years. During these many years, we have supported those in
need, through child/youth development, family strengthening and health
and well-being programs. Today, we are as committed as ever to helping
all members of our community live healthier lives - in spirit, mind and
body. For these reasons, the YMCA developed the "Membership For All" program to help health seekers who may need financial assistance.
In an effort to encourage all members of our community to live healthier lives, the YMCA developed the “Membership For All”
program to help health seekers who may need financial assistance.

What is Membership For All" In
January 2009, the YMCA of Honolulu made a bold move. We
implemented "Membership For All," an income-based, island-wide
membership model that will make the YMCA more financially accessible to all. We
wanted to find a way to make the YMCA an affordable place where all in
our community can exercise and play with a healthier lifestyle in mind.
How Does It Impact Current Members? Our
current members will see no change in their membership rates, unless they prefer to upgrade to an island-wide membership. Also, if they qualify, they have the option to look into "Membership For All" rates. Being an
island-wide member means more convenience and benefits for you, with
access to facilities across the island and hundreds of classes and
programs. "Membership For All" will help our current members, who are
struggling financially, retain their YMCA membership.
How Do I Find Out My "Membership For All" Rate?
The "Membership For All" program application is based solely on your or your family's total household income:
For those of you who are interested in financial assistance, visit the Welcome Center of your local YMCA branch and inquire about the "Membership For All" rate chart.
If you are interested in applying, present a copy of your most recent tax return to the Welcome Center. The information you provide will determine your income-based rate.
Complete the simple membership application. Depending on your current financial situation, you may also qualify for more assistance under the YMCA "Financial Assistance" program.
Collectively, We Can Make A Difference
As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to invite everyone into our community, irrespective of income. With your help, we can continue to stay committed to helping all members of our community lead healthier lives and build stronger kids, families and communities.
