At the Spring Leadership Conference, held January 19–21, 2013, 68 youth delegates from across Oahu, in grades 6–12, elected their Governor, Senate President, Speaker of the House and other officers and spent the weekend training for their upcoming 63rd Annual YMCA Youth in Government Legislative Session scheduled to take place March 22–25.

Interested students may register to participate in the upcoming 63rd Annual Youth in Government Legislation session. Many of Hawaii’s top leaders and even national leaders have served as former youth legislators. Download a flyer and register online or in person at your local YMCA. 2013 Youth in Government Legislative Session

This four day, three night event will be held at the Nu'uanu YMCA, state offices, and Pagoda Hotel. Using parliamentary procedure, students will debate bills and resolutions in the Senate and House of Representatives Chambers including working with others to propose their bills in cross over.

Cost:Cost is $175 per student. Financial Assistance is available. Includes all hotel accommodations, meals, training, legislative sessions and Hawaii State Capitol Opening Ceremony.
Deadline:Registration deadline has been extended to Monday, March 11.
