Child Care (Preschool and Grades K-6)

After School On-Site (A+ Program)

At the Y, After School Programs are more than just kid-watching. It's about engaging your children in those critical hours where they should be safe and supervised. Read more about the program's impact and a list of school sites.

Through a partnership with the Department of Education, the YMCA of Honolulu provides after school care for over 7,000 children in grades K-6 through the A+ program at 47 public schools on Oahu. Check with your local school for program availability and registration. 

After School Program (ASP)

Currently offered at the Kaimuki YMCA and Mililani YMCA. Program includes enrichment activities, homework time, sports and games, and more. Program follows the schools’ schedule.  Bus transportation provided for certain schools. Call the Kaimuki Y at 737-5544 or Mililani Y at 625-1040.

Intersession Programs

Full and half-day quality programs are offered during the fall, winter, and spring school breaks. All year round for Multi-Track Schools. Activities include recreational swim, sports and games, arts and crafts, music and dance, stories and drama, and weekly excursions.  Call your local Y for details.

One Day/Waiver Programs

We offer all day childcare program by the day during schools' waiver days and Teacher Institute Days. One Day Programs are offered at most branches.  Call your local Y for details.

Kids Club Part-Time Preschool Program

Preschool classes for toddlers 18-36 months are designed with care to develop each child's individual skills and personality while encouraging cooperation, sharing and fun. The Kid’s Club provides opportunities and experiences which stimulate your child's physical, social, intellectual, and emotional growth.

PALS Part-Time Preschool Program

PALS is a part-time preschool enrichment class for toddlers 3-4 years old. A structured environment designed to prepare the child for a formal preschool setting. Includes formulized activities that continue to develop social and behavioral skills along with cognitive, gross and fine motor skills. One teacher per 4-5 children. Call your local Y for details and availability.
