Quotes from Participants

"During this scary time of COVID-19, you have been the rainbow among the clouds. He looks forward to seeing all of you every day, and loves playing with his new friends. His backpack is full of his creations (arts and crafts) that he then proudly displays at home. Playing outside and having positive interactions with humans outside of our small family unit have been his saving grace. Words can't express how appreciative we are of all of you and this program."

- Tyler's Parents

“When I drop Ezra off to ‘play with friends’ I don’t worry at all. Every morning and afternoon you see them temperature checking all the kids to ensure everyone is in good health, and just taking necessary safety precautions especially during this time. Ezra gets up every morning asking if he is going to play with friends today. It makes me excited for him! Every day he comes home with a new arts and crafts project that he likes to show off, to his sisters and I. I feel like this program is really helping Ezra mentally, emotionally, and physically.”

- Ezra’s Mom

“Through all of this uncertainty, the YMCA has been a safe haven for both my children and I. Through the financial assistance that is offered, my children have a safe, fun and nurturing place to be while I am blessed to continue working.

Without the assistance, I would have no choice but to either keep my children at home or decline to work. The YMCA provides fun physical activities, nutritious meals and snacks that promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as assistance in online schooling so that my children don’t fall behind in their school work.”

- Mom

"I can't see any of my friends from school because of COVID so I was really sad.. But it's super fun coming here so I can make new friends and play with them and bother Mr. Jon! Hahahaha!"

- Student, 2nd grade

"The YMCA has been a God sent to me during the COVID-19 pandemic. As I am in healthcare, I still had to work. Without the YMCA and their Financial Aid, I would not be able to make money to care for my family. I appreciate all your company does!"

- Mom
