YMCA Learning Centers for K - 6th and Preschool

YMCA Learning Centers: Grades K - 6th

Our YMCA Learning Centers are open to provide a safe place for children in grades K through 6th who are in distance learning and blended school programs.

Our trained youth program staff members ensure students attend their virtual learning classes and complete activities assigned by their school. Social enrichment opportunities, arts and crafts, and indoor and outdoor physical fitness activities are also provided.

As schools have continued to adjust their virtual, in-person and blended school programming schedules, we have adapted our program offerings at select branches.

Leeward Y Preschool: Ages 2 - 5

At the Y, we’re not just a daycare. Through our fully licensed preschool program, your child will experience a nurturing environment where engaging teachers build upon children’s strengths to develop self-confidence and build social and emotional skills. Currently, our Leeward Y is offering a full-day and half-day preschool option for children ages 2-5.

    • Are experiencing cold or flu symptoms; or
    • They or someone in their household has an active or suspected case of COVID-19; or

Drop Off And Pick Up

Drop off and pick up is done curbside with parents and guardians remaining in their cars.

When you arrive in the drop off lane, your child’s temperature is taken, and you are asked a short series of health screening questions by a staff member who is wearing gloves, eye protection, and a mask. A staff member escorts your child to wash their hands and then to their assigned group. During pickup, YMCA staff members are not permitted to buckle any child into their car seat.
