YMCA Learning Centers - New $50 Per Week Pricing & Up to 100% Financial Assistance

YMCA Learning Centers & Preschool are open!

In support of working parents/guardians, the YMCA Learning Centers are open to provide a safe place for their children in grades K through 6th who are in distance learning school programs and the Leeward Y Preschool is open for children ages 2 - 5.

LOCATIONS, DATES & TIMES:

LEARNING CENTERS [K - 6TH GRADE]

Offered on a weekly basis: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm

  • Kaimuki: 4835 Kilauea Avenue, Honolulu
  • Kalihi: 1335 Kalihi Street, Honolulu
  • Leeward: 99-440 Mokuola Street, Waipahu
  • Mililani: 95-1190 Hikikaulia Street, Mililani
  • Nu’uanu: 1441 Pali Highway, Honolulu
  • Windward: 1200 Kailua Road, Kailua
  • Currently, registration is open for children ages K-6th grade who wish to attend the program five days a week. This allows us to create stable groups, ensuring children are with the same peers and staff daily and thus, reducing the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
  • Trained staff will be available to ensure students attend their virtual learning classes and complete activities assigned by their school. Social enrichment opportunities, arts and crafts, and indoor and outdoor physical fitness activities will also be provided.
  • As schools finalize their plans for the rest of the school year, we will adapt our program if enough families are in need of care for only a few days a week. We will need to meet this need by creating stable groups within our program for those doing a mix of virtual and in-person learning.

PRESCHOOL AT LEEWARD Y [AGES 2 - 5 YEARS OLD]

  • All children and staff are required to be screened daily at each YMCA Branch and will not be allowed to attend if they:
    • Have a fever of 100.4° F or more in the last 48 hours; or
    • Are experiencing cold or flu symptoms; or
    • They or someone in their household have been suspected to have or have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or
    • They or someone in their household have traveled out of the State of Hawaii within the past 14 days.
  • Low children to staff ratios are maintained.
  • Children will be kept in set groups in separate areas at all times while practicing social distancing.
  • Masks are required for both staff and children.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP

Drop off and pick up is done curbside with parents and guardians remaining in their cars.

When you arrive in the drop off lane, your child’s temperature is taken, and you are asked a short series of health screening questions by a staff member who is wearing gloves, eye protection, and a mask. A staff member escorts your child to wash their hands and then to their assigned group. During pickup, YMCA staff members are not permitted to buckle any child into their car seat.
