POSITION SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
• Prepares and serves food under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor.
• Assists with inventory control and quality control.
• Answers guest questions about menu and preparation. Interacts directly with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Is responsible for the washing of dishes and the cleaning and care of the kitchen, equipment, dining hall, and other utilized areas.
• Strictly follows sanitary standards set by the Hawaii State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
• Strictly follows sanitary standards set by the YMCA of Honolulu and Food Service Director at Camp Erdman.
Skills/Knowledge:
• Knowledge of standards of food preparation, serving, and kitchen procedures.
Education/Training:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
Other:
• Valid Driver’s License.
Under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor and Food Service Director, the position primarily involves the preparation, delivery, and clean up of meals for all applicable Camp Erdman programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of standards of food preparation, serving, and kitchen procedures.
• 1-3 years of professional experience as a cook required; camp or institutional food service preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Completion of or willingness to complete an approved Hawaii Food Handler course.
• Valid Driver’s License.
