Careers Job Opportunities Maintenance Technician I

Maintains a healthy environment for all staff, members, and participants of the YMCA. Keeps facility and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.  Works with supervisor to assure the optimal functioning and maintenance of building/ building systems, including but not limited to mechanical, fire/life safety, and pool maintenance.  Provides a safe facility for staff and members. This position reports to the Senior Program Director and/or Foreman.
 
Skills/Knowledge:

• Performs manual tasks for cleaning, repair, and new installations
• Works with general cleaning chemicals
• Sweeps, vacuums, scrubs, mops, waxes, landscapes
• Uses light, power-operated or manual cleaning, maintenance, or landscaping equipment such as drills, floor buffer, power washer, hammer, lawn mower, and chain saw
• Handles pool chemicals and pool maintenance equipment i.e. pool vacuum
• Assists supervisor in repair and maintenance projects
• Immediately reports necessary repairs or supplies as needed
• Cleans designated areas as assigned
• Must be able to read and understand directions, specifically pertaining to the use of cleaning supplies and equipment

Education/Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license

Experience:

• 2 year minimal janitorial, maintenance, and landscaping experience preferred
