goals and work to create a fitness program to help you reach those
goals! The majority of our trainers are not only nationally certified,
but also have bachelors or masters degrees in health & wellness (or
similar fields) and most also hold additional certifications in
specialty training for different age groups or fitness modalities.

Education and Certifications
I began my fitness journey as a young adult. I grew up here in Hawaii, but I never availed myself of the climate and surroundings to find a path towards sustained, life-long health until my early twenties. My walk towards fitness started with huffing and puffing through my first aerobics class to my present role as personal trainer. Along the way, I had to overcome feelings of inadequacy about my body, recover from multiple stress injuries, and carry four healthy pregnancies. Each emotional and physical challenge provided me an opportunity to adopt, adapt, and overcome. These experiences taught me that it is never too late in life to start taking care of yourself and that life events should change the approach towards but not stop the pursuit of good health. I believe people have the power to change through dedication, attitude, patience, and a lot of planning. As your personal trainer, I hope to work with you to find your own enjoyable and sustainable pathway towards a healthier, fitter you!
Education and Certifications
Motivating, empowering, and encouraging people to be their best has always been a passion; helping others live life to the fullest through mind, body, and spirit. Fitness became a priority for me beginning in early adulthood. Desiring to get fit and lose 40+ pounds after having each of my four children, taught me a lot about the mind and body and what it is capable of. Through that experience and my own training, I developed a passion for helping others achieve their goals and realize their potential for change, developing healthy habits and lifestyle. In 2015 I helped start a new boxing conditioning program at the YMCA in Virginia, as well as becoming a personal trainer, and teaching group fitness, HIIT, and Pro-fit classes. My own training consists of advancing my technique and skills in kickboxing and Muay Thai, while incorporating weight training, as well as playing sports such as racquetball and softball in my free time. I am confident in my ability to help make health and fitness a lifestyle for all my clients. Through a trusting partnership you will be able to reach your goals and have fun doing it! I strive to lead and teach fitness in way that enables each individual to become self-sufficient, creating a strong foundation of self-efficacy in order to live strong and healthy for life.
Ready to train?
Fill out our personal training request form and turn it in to the Welcome Center. Specific trainers may be requested, however they are not guaranteed. Our Healthy Lifestyles Director will work to match you with the trainer that best suits your needs and availability and you will receive a call from the trainer to set up an assessment/orientation (free of charge) prior to starting your sessions. The free assessment/orientation is up to an hour in length and the trainer will discuss your health history, goals, availability & may have your perform assessments in strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, mobility or balance so that they can create a fitness program suitable for you.
We currently offer 1-on-1 sessions, buddy sessions and small group personal training. Save money by purchasing a package or training with a friend or a couple of friends!
