  • Speaking in respectful tones, refraining from the use of vulgar or derogatory language and dressing appropriately;
  • Resolving conflicts in a respectful, honest and caring manner;
  • Respecting others by refraining from intimate behavior in public;
  • Respecting the property of others;
  • Creating a safe, caring environment free of weapons and firearms;
  • Participating in programs to build healthy spirit, mind and body; and
  • Never engaging in the use, sale, dispensing or possession of illegal drugs or the unsanctioned use of alcohol on YMCA premises.
Adherence to the YMCA Code of Conduct is essential. Noncompliance may result in suspension or termination of YMCA membership privileges.

In addition, to ensure the safety of YMCA participants, members, guests and residents, we regularly compare our membership and participant database to the National Registry of Convicted Sex Offenders and terminate the membership, programs, and/or access rights of anyone registered.

Some of the YMCA branches provide free child watch for members during specified hours. Hours and rates for non-members differ at each facility. Contact your YMCA branch for hours and rates.

Family Memberships

Family memberships are the most economical way to join.

  • Family memberships include 1 to up to 4 adults and dependent children (26 years of age or younger) living at the same address.
  • Single family memberships include one adult and dependent children (26 years of age or younger) living at the same address.

Food and Beverages

Food and drink are not permitted in the workout areas or locker rooms, except water. Vending machines and eating areas are available at each branch except for Kalihi.

Guest Policy

Friends and families are welcome at the Y! Each membership has complimentary guest passes as a member benefit. Guests must be accompanied by a member and have a picture ID. Learn more here.

Lockers

Lockers are available for rent or available for day use by members and guests. Bring your own lock and remove it at the end of each visit. Items left overnight will be removed from the locker room and placed in Lost and Found. The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. To rent a locker, please sign up at the Welcome Center.

Membership Card

Members are REQUIRED to have their photo taken when they get their membership card made at their first visit. Your membership card is valuable and important. You must present it each time you enter the building for access to the facility and when you register for special programs. Lost cards may be replaced for a nominal fee.

Membership Payment Options

Nationwide Membership

Some restrictions apply, including:

  • Nationwide Membership is only valid for active, full facility YMCA members.
  • Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time.
  • Program-only participants and special memberships are not eligible for Nationwide Membership. (e.g. Silver & Fit, Active & Fit, Fit Rewards Hawaii).

For a current list of participating YMCA's please click here.

The YMCA will be sharing member data with Y-USA to conduct regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access.

Pet Policy

Pets are not permitted on any YMCA of Honolulu property with the exception of service animals.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines service animals as any guide animal, signal animal, or other animal that is trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. For example, some animals are trained to pull wheelchairs; others are taught to alert to the sounds of the telephone, oven timers, alarm clocks, smoke alarms, and even a baby’s cry. Service animals are not considered pets.

Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.

Smoking Policy

All YMCA facilities are smoke-free environments.
