Fall Prevention Workshop

Wednesday, September 23, 12:45-1:30pm

Join physical therapist, Michael Rounds for a discussion on fall prevention. Workshop will include prevention tips for around the home, outside of the home & other important information to assess and reduce the risk of falling. Michael will take you through some balance and stability exercises and you'll also have some time for questions at the end of the session.

The YMCA of Honolulu is offering a series of five of their most popular nutrition workshops by renowned nutrition consultant and author Rita Madden MPH, RDN. Geared for families, adults and seniors, the free workshops will be live streamed via ZOOM.

October: Healthy Habits in the Home
Thursday, October 1, 7:00-8:00pm
Currently, many of us are staying home more often. In this session we discuss tips to work and/or virtually learn from the home while also cultivating an environment that supports daily health. Join us as we discuss such things as making exercise happen, creating balance with screen time and managing mindless munching.

November: Joyful Holiday Eating
Thursday, November 5, 7:00-8:00pm
People tend to put on a little weight during the holiday season. We also tend to throw off our healthy routines this time of year. This doesn’t need to be the case! In this workshop, the participant will walk away with practical strategies to manage weight and health during the holiday season, while still enjoying wonderful foods and moments of the season; all without feeling deprived.

Introductory Personal Training

Can you do personal training at home? YES!

Personal Training with Dominique

Dominique will take you through 30 minutes of exercises, guiding you through proper form & technique. Please make sure you have a set of gliders (or felt pieces/paper plates for gliding) and a kettlebell or 1 single weight for class. After class, you'll have 15 minutes to "ask a trainer" any health & wellness questions you might have. Each week will have a different area of focus!
