Get Involved!
Volunteers are key to the success of the YMCA. Our staff depends on the talent and the extra hands that make everything we do a little extra special. The YMCA of Honolulu is thankful to have the support and dedication of thousands of volunteers every year who support our work, our values and our mission to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Y volunteers give people of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure. There are a multitude of rewards in volunteering at the Y. You get to meet new people and make new friends. You can volunteer to work with the age groups and activities that interest you the most. You can volunteer on days or hours that are best for you.
Here's a clip of some of our volunteers and why they choose to serve:

ULUPO HEIAU AT WINDWARD Y
The Y's Togetherhood program connects people from all backgrounds to plan and carry out volunteer projects that address a real need in their community.
The Windward Y's Togetherhood Project is right in our back yard at Ulupo Heiau. In conjunction with fellow non-profit Kauluakalana, we work to honor and preserve this sacred space.
Togetherhood work days activate volunteers to the Heiau and lower kalo or lo'i patches, where we do activities such as pulling invasive weeds, moving rocks, spreading mulch, harvesting kalo, and cleaning up the area. Togetherhood is a quarterly event that is open to the entire community.
