Togetherhood - Activating People for Good: Ulupo Heiau
The Y's Togetherhood program connects people from all backgrounds to plan and carry out volunteer projects that address a real need in their community.
Windward Y's Togetherhood Project is right in our back yard at the Ulupo Heiau. Our most recent work day activated over 80 volunteers to the Heiau and lower Kalo or Lo'i patches, where we cleaned the ‘auwai, pulled invasive weeds, removed rocks, harvested kalo and cleaned up the area. Volunteers included our YMCA members and staff, community members and program participants. Togetherhood is a quarterly event open to all. Please call or stop by the Y to sign up for the next Togetherhood!
